IT WAS 60 years ago that a tsunami struck the Indian
subcontinent. The number 60 has got a peculiar significance in the history of
mankind, says P.V. Ravindran. Managing Director of Futuretech Private Limited,
a company that makes software for astrological purposes.
The
planetary position becomes identical every 60 years, according to him.
This
is the reason behind the celebrations
marking 60th birthday. When a person turns 60, there is a tendency to
re- turn to childhood habits, Mr. Ravindran says.
The
position of the sun also is a vital component behind the occurrence of natural
calamities. The period prior to 'Makara Sankranthi' is characterised by minimum
pull from the sun as it is far away from the earth during that period of the
year.
Whenever
the sun is away from the earth, that area is prone to more disasters, he says. Experts in astrology can accurately forecast
the time of eclipses. These timings are the same as those calculated
scientifically.
This proves the effect of astrology as a predictive science and hence the effectiveness of astrological software, according to Mr. Ravindran, an alumnus of IIT, Chennai.
